My name is Steve and I am the Library Director.  I began working with the Benbrook Public Library in August 2011.  I am involved in managing the library’s budget and administrative responsibilities and supporting the staff in delivering programs and services.  I work with the staff and Board of Trustees in strategic planning and implementing new ideas.  I have a BA and an MA from the University of Texas at Arlington focusing on International Relations and another master’s degree from the University of North Texas in Information Science.  I enjoy reading and researching non-fiction material related to history, politics, and languages, and especially like helping individuals find information and develop skills that improve their lives.


Hello, my name is Miranda and I have been the Youth Services Librarian at the Benbrook Public Library since February 2001. I am responsible for all of the children and teen programing and collection development at the Library. My days are filled with various tasks including juggling the informational needs of teens and planning fun storytimes for preschoolers.  I feel I have the best job in the world! I have a bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a master’s degree in Library Science from the University of North Texas.  I am always available to answer questions and help you find your way through our library.


Hello, my name is Cullen and I’m the Adult Services Librarian. I’ve been with the library since November 2011. My main responsibilities are developing the adult collections, planning and implementing programs for adults, promoting library services, and helping patrons meet their various library-related needs. I have a bachelor’s degree in Advertising from the University of Oklahoma (sorry, Texas fans) and a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of North Texas. I primarily read fiction of various genres, and while I officially have “adult” in my job title, I always make time for some YA reading. Come to me for help with tracking down that elusive book, organizing your research paper, operating temperamental technology, or anything else in the world of information.


My name is Erica and I am the Programming Librarian.  I have been with the library since September 2014, and I now live in Benbrook as well.  My responsibilities include creating and planning programs at the library that are fun, informative, and hold an interest for the community.  I also work with social media, so make sure to follow our facebook and twitter feeds!  My bachelor’s degree is from Texas Tech University in English Literature, and I graduated from the University of North Texas with my master’s degree in Library Science.  I love to read, and my guilty pleasure reading is urban fantasy.  Let me know if you have a program idea, want to talk football, or need help finding that great book.


My name is Sheryl and I have been with Benbrook Library since April 2015. I started out as a volunteer and then was hired on as Page.  In October of 2016 I was promoted to Library Assistant. I am periodically at the circulation desk where I can help with checking out books, picking up holds , renewing existing Library cards and getting new cards for our patrons.  Formerly I worked for 15 years as an Library Assistant at a Junior High Library.  I would love to meet you so come in and say Hello!!!


My name is Phyllis and I’m a Librarian Assistant. I made the move to this position in October 2012. You will find me working with the librarians or at the information desk.  I started as a volunteer in 2009 at Benbrook Library and was hired in October 2010 as a Library Assistant. I attended Minnesota State University-Mankato and South Central College. I learned sign language to better communicate with others. I have worked for high school, elementary school and public libraries in Minnesota and Iowa. I spend my leisure time on photography, digital scrapbooking and finding the best deals the area has to offer.


Hello, my name is Libby and I’m the Admin Assistant, providing support for the staff at Benbrook Library District.  We moved to Benbrook in 1986 and so have witnessed the Library’s growth.  My last position was in the finance division of a major corporation where I worked for 24 years.  In my spare time I enjoy cooking with my grandkids and training my Red Heeler, Ginger.  Travel is also high on my bucket list.  So pleased to be working with good people and in such a peaceful environment.


My name is Kathy and I am a Library Assistant and the Volunteer Supervisor. I retired from Fort Worth I.S.D. in 2014 after 18 years and came to work at the Benbrook Public Library in May of the same year. I have my bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University and my masters in Library Science from the University of North Texas. I enjoy reading fiction adult books, children’s books and biography books. I also enjoy gardening, sight-seeing different towns, movies, watching my favorite shows on Hulu, camping and hiking, and antique shopping. I am here to help you with checking out your items, making new library cards and finding that book or movie you are wanting.


Hi, my name is Joyce I became a volunteer with the library in 2014 after completing library courses at Tarrant County College.  Most of my working career has been in the corporate environment. I find working in the library a welcomed, refreshing, and rewarding change. I am enjoying my new role here.  I appreciate you for giving me an opportunity to serve the patrons in the Benbrook Community as a Library Assistant. I’m here to help.


My name is George and I am the Library IT Specialist.  I began working with the Benbrook Public Library in October 2014.  I am responsible for the maintenance of all our staff and public use computer equipment to include the printers, two servers and Internet.  I spend my days patching and updating software, exploring new Computer Technology to help our library meet the every growing demands of you, our public.  I train and assist you with your their daily computer usage, helping to make your computer experience more enjoyable in a hope that you one day are knowledgeable and more independent.  I have an associate’s degree from ITT Technical Institute of Aurora, Colorado in Computer Network Systems Administration.  I am a Retired Air Force Veteran and owe my love of computers and all the technology surrounding it to the service of my country and it’s my hope to pass that energy on to you here at Benbrook.


My name is James and I am the MakerSpace Assistant with the Benbrook Public Library. I am here to help you with all of your 3D printing, engraving, poster printing, and other technology needs. I have been with the library since November 2017.  I have a BA from the University of Texas at Arlington and am currently a graduate student at Tarleton State University pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Administration.
