Snapology
Snapology provides children’s enrichment at its best with STEAM learning programs that engage children from ages 4 to 14.
Snapology instructors use fun, hands-on activities to teach Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. While children are exploring robotics, coding, and design challenges using LEGO® bricks, K’Nex, and technology, they’re building skills that will help them throughout school and their careers. To kids, it’s just fun!
Registration for this program is required to attend. Registration will open one week before the event date.

Welcome to MakerSpace!
Effective June 1, 2022, a library card is required to make a Makerspace appointment.
This is a space built just for you to dream, plan, and create; all ages are welcome. We have a variety of innovative tools available for in-house use at the Library.
Please utilize the Makerspace Calendar to make an appointment. The calendar is updated daily, so you can find an available time that works with your schedule to come in and turn projects into a reality. The Makerspace’s available appointment hours typically follow the library’s standard operating hours.
Because the Makerspace is a place for YOU to learn and create. Library staff provide guidance but leave the vision and execution of the projects to you. Training is available to help you learn how to operate the equipment safely to complete your projects with the results you hope to achieve. We also encourage collaboration but will advise you if a project is beyond the scope of our space.
Benbrook Public Library follows the definition of a Makerspace which is “a place in which people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.” Potentially harmful items or those that violate copyright will not be permitted.
If you have any questions regarding the Makerspace, please email Makerspace, or call/stop by and a librarian can assist you with your questions.
Fiero Code is a self-paced learn-to-code software for kids ages 8-18. Through hundreds of coding tutorials and dozens of real-world projects, this high-impact educational e-resource prepares the youth in your library community for jobs and provides meaningful life skills such as critical thinking and problem-solving.
Do you like to build with Legos? Do you like or want to learn how to code? Have a blast learning how to code while building robotic games to test your code. Students will learn about sequencing commands, value and sensor inputs, and loops. With the robotic ring toss, your child is sure to have fun building, learning, and playing.
