Coffee Break

The only thing better than reading a good book is reading a good book and then talking about it with fellow book lovers. Every month we read a preselected book and then meet to discuss it. The Adult Services Librarian guides the discussion, but attendees are encouraged to bring up their own desired topics for the group to talk about, and we like to keep it loose and let the conversation flow naturally.

The book club reads primarily fiction titles, but we change things up with a non-fiction title from time to time. Click here to view the current reading list.

Yoga

Yoga classes at the library are taught by a professional and are for yogis of all skill levels. The 45-minute classes are free and are a great way to improve oneself both physically and mentally. Those who have their own yoga mats are encouraged to bring them, but the library does have some mats available for those who may need them.

Yoga classes are held on the second Monday of each month at 6 PM. There are occasional exceptions, and they will be noted on the library calendar.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness helps bring more awareness to the processes of our mind so that our bodies can be more present in the world. Join us each month to reflect and pause together in mindful ways. We will discover together how to experience life more fully, bring calm into our life situations, and move forward with purpose and focus.

Practicing mindfulness with a group helps to expand and accelerate your own growth and awareness. During each session, we will meditate together, journal together, and share together. By listening intently to others and sharing deeply from your own hearts, we can establish a lasting mindfulness routine together.

This is a loving and uplifting community and we would love to have you join us every 2nd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM.

Writing Critique

The library’s Writing Critique Group offers writers the opportunity to share their work with their peers and receive feedback in a constructive setting. Attendees read aloud from their writing projects and receive notes, praise, and constructive criticism from their fellow writers. It’s our hope that the group will prove helpful to experienced and aspiring authors alike. Anyone 18 or older may join the group. Writers of all genres and experience levels are welcome, though we do ask that all content presented be kept between “PG-13” and “R” levels of propriety.
