Welcome to MakerSpace!
This is a space built just for you to dream, plan, and create; all ages are welcome. We have a variety of innovative tools available for in-house use at the Library.
Please utilize the MakerSpace Calendar to make an appointment. The calendar is updated daily, so you can find an available time that works with your schedule to come in and turn project ideas into reality. The MakerSpace’s available appointment hours typically follow the library’s standard operating hours.
Because the MakerSpace is a place for YOU to learn and create, library staff provide guidance but leave the vision and execution of the projects to you. Training is available to help you learn how to operate the equipment safely and complete your projects with the results you hope to achieve. We encourage collaboration but will advise you if a project is beyond the scope of our space.
Benbrook Public Library follows the definition of a MakerSpace which is “a place in which people with shared interests, especially in computing or technology, can gather to work on projects while sharing ideas, equipment, and knowledge.” Potentially harmful items or those that violate copyright will not be permitted.
Effective June 1, 2022, a library card is required to make a MakerSpace or poster printer appointment. If you have any questions regarding the MakerSpace, please email MakerSpace, or call/stop by and a librarian can assist you with your questions.
